Tiffany and Derek- Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica.

Tiffany & Derek wanted a wedding that was classy, fun and had a backdrop that celebrated mother nature. AKA the gorgeous rain forest of Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica. Tiffany has a love for bling, so we used it throughout the entire design. My favorite bling was however her oh so fabulous Jimmy Choo shoes. A fun time for guests was a factor that was as well important to them both and based on the dancing and hysterical photo booth photos you will see below, I think that mission was well accomplished!

Real Weddings - Katrika and Quintin - March 2011,Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica

Katrika and Quintin are very simply put, a lovely down to earth couple.  Their style shines through with all the earth tones and elegant choices they made for their perfect day.  

Katrika's gown, beautiful fabric falling in drapes around her, set the tone for the whimsical feeling of the ceremony and reception.  White orchids securing her up-do was soft and elegant against her silhouette.  The beaming couple exchanged vows outside under a canopy lined with streamers of white and green.  A bouquet of white roses and orchids and a splash of greens highlighted the beauty of the bride. 

At the reception, the couple chose a long banquet table decorated with brown linen napkins and smoky green vases which held a few white orchids each.  The earth tones and materials were highlighted beautifully by the white lights crisscrossed over the table.  Hearing the ocean ebb and flow behind them gave this party real life!  As night fell, tiki torches and white paper lanterns brought on the ambiance and the party rocked on.

Real Weddings - Emily and Kyle - Tulemar Beach, Manuel Antonio January 14, 2011

Emily and Kyle chose beautiful monochromatic pink color palate with the emphasis on rich fuchsia, often found in Costa Rican sunsets.

Their sunset ceremony took place at Tulemar Beach in Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica this past January.  A whimsical canopy with white organza drapes was tied back with bouquets of lavender &  pink roses as well as a mix of pink and lime green orchids. As the sun set into the horizon, The fuchsia toned sky welcomed Emily andf Kyle into their new lives together as husband and wife.

The reception was on a sandy seaside terrace, over looking the pacific ocean.  A beautifully decorated and lit long banquet table sat all the guests in this intimate celebration  The chair backs were tied in matching hot pink sashes and round paper lanterns hung above the table to set a very romantic, yet playful mood.

Tropical Occasions featured on Style Me Pretty- Real Weddings "Alex & Eric"

This Monday, I started off my week with the amazing news that a wedding we had designed and planned was the day's opening feature on Style Me Pretty. For those who may not know what Style Me Pretty is, well it is the "Mecca" of all wedding blogs. A hub of highlighted events, design ideas, DIY projects for brides and grooms and people like us, who work in the wedding industry.  It features the creme de la creme of the wedding world and above all a whole lot of eye candy- well if you're wedding-obsessed that is!

We are also proud members of Style Me Pretty's "Little Black Book"  A book that is by invitation only and features only the best of wedding services available in a given state, country etc... 

The wedding featured could not have been a more deserving one. Our Bride Alex and I were both equally obsessed with nailng a perfect design for her big day.  We played with many palates, flowers and many ideas, details, decor and fashion. The inspiration that created the final look came from the great bridemaids dresses from BCBG and the fabulous house Casa Fantastica, where wedding took place. We began bouncing ideas back and forth till literally weeks before the wedding we finalized what you will see here. I loved every minute of planning with Alex; each phone call, her lovely energy, and most of all, her great taste!

Major kudos needs to be given to Karen Ogden, my Mid-Pacific manager who was the on-site planner for this event and took a vision that Alex and I had created and perfected it. I also have to say that we have seen many amazing photos by Julie Comfort of Comfort Studios, but these are my favorites by far. Her talent grows with each event and is becoming a force to be reckoned with.

Old Fashioned Whimsical meets the Tropics

First off my apologies for the disappearing act over last few weeks, Every day goes by and I say I need to blog... day ends and next day I say same thing!  Alas, I am getting to it. So to make up for my lack in blogging  and what we have been up to....which is A LOT, thus the reason for no blogging time. I wanted to share a truly wonderful wedding we did with you. The minute I started working with this wonderful bride (Mrs. Jeanne Choi)  I knew I had met a fellow design enthusiast and all together amazing person. I loved every idea she brought to the planning table and we had a really fun time co creating a really beautiful event.  From the start we were like peas and carrots and the result as you will see was something very different than we usually produce- Jeanne thank you so much for the inspiration to bring old fashioned whimsical to the tropics, we miss you!

Tropical Occasions featured in Destination I Do Weddings and Honeymoons Magazine

We are so thrilled a recent wedding of ours has been featured in the fabulous Destination I Do Magazine. Having paved the Costa Rican destination wedding market ( I was the very first professional wedding planner in Costa Rica) to see all the recent media buzz on this country I hold so near and dear to my heart is amazing. I have always known Costa Rica was a fabulous location for a destination wedding. Finally the rest of the world has caught on and it is getting that great recognition we all work hard for.

The wedding featured was photographed by Julie Comfort of Comfort Studios. We all adore Julie and are so happy to be featured together showcasing both our work!

 

 

  

Real Weddings- Rebecca & Dave, Manuel Antonio

Rebecca and Dave were as well married at the lovely Tulemar Beach and as well chose the spectacular new Karola's Restaurant at Los Altos. As planners we are always work hard to make sure our weddings don't get too cookie cutter. With 2 Weddings in a week that both opted for the same venues, we were worried, but the end result was totally different looks and vibes, each lovely and a true reflection of the wonderful sets of brides and grooms we worked with. We loved working with Rebecca and Dave from the get go, they have great laid back personalities and were a real joy for all of us- Here is a look at their wedding day in paradise...
